Samsung Embraces AI in 2024 Model Phones
This year, the tech industry buzzes with excitement over Artificial Intelligence (AI). The pace of AI development is akin to a T100 on a motorbike. In a surprising move, Samsung has centered its new flagship line's marketing strategy on the integration of a suite of AI features deeply embedded into and onto its cutting-edge phones.
In this post, I would like to take a look at one of the more user-friendly features. This feature termed Circle-to-Search is useful to a person like me who travels frequently and enjoys having more context and information about landmarks and historical treasures.
For instance, consider our recent post about the Museo Archeologico Heraklion, where we highlighted the rich history on display. With the introduction of AI-driven Circle-to-Search, our phones could potentially offer even more detailed information about each exhibit, enriching our exploration.

What is the Samsung Circle to search feature?
Google Lens Integration in Samsung Circle-to-Search
Google Lens is a product that has been available for a few years now. However, the implementation has not been as seamless as afforded by the AI chips and Samsung integration.
When I used Google Lens in the past it involved downloading a separate application. This allowed for searching photos and items through the camera lens, but not with the simplicity or level of accuracy as Samsung Circle.
This iteration is basically Google Lens on steroids and lodged in your phone's navigation home button. With a simple press and hold Samsung AI activates Circle-to-Search with Google.
